Prime Day 2022 is fast approaching. The two-day sale event, exclusive to Prime members, begins Tuesday, July 12 (who said Tuesdays have to be boring?) and runs through Wednesday, July 13. We cover every great deal available so you don’t have to worry about missing out on any outstanding discounts. But that’s all for next week. Here you can save big today.
Vizio’s premium 48-inch Elevate 5.1.4 sound system is being sold for the lowest price we’ve seen. Originally $1,099 (although it currently sells for $999 through Vizio), you can supercharge your entertainment center on Amazon for $698. While less expensive soundbars like Sonos’ second-gen Beam claim to have Dolby Atmos support, it’s a virtualized effect compared to delivering real thing that the Elevate offers.
There are upward-firing speakers on each side of the Elevate, adding dimension to audio and enhancing presence to make Atmos content sound cinematic (or better). When you’re not watching Atmos content, the Elevate’s sides can be rotated to deliver audio straight to you. The Elevate includes two upward-firing satellite speakers that you can place behind or around you, and a wireless subwoofer. Read more about Elevate here.
If you love budget devices like us, you might be interested in a 100W PD-enabled USB-C to USB-C cable that has a built-in power meter that displays wattage. The Chipofy brand is offering their version of the cable (many other companies seem to be making a similar one) for $16.69 if you clip the $2 coupon on their Amazon product page.
My colleague Sean Hollister bought it a month ago (read more about his experience here) and he immediately found it worth making sure his tech was getting the right kind of power to charge at top speed. Note that you’ll need to connect the screen side to the device you’re charging, not the power source, to see what kind of charging speed you’re getting.
I mentioned Prime Day is coming, right? Yes. While we expect deals on tech from many, many brands, it’s about time Amazon’s own gadgets got discounts too. It’s already lined up some deals for Prime members, including big price cuts on the latest Kindle for kids, the fourth-gen Echo Dot smart speaker, and the always-useful Smart Plug. Each of these items will be sold at their lowest price.
A few more deals to whet your Prime Day appetite
- Logitech’s Powerplay Wireless Charging Mouse Pad is slightly discounted at Amazon, priced at $91.56 instead of $100. This pad is compatible with Logitech’s G703, G502 Lightspeed, G903 Lightspeed and Pro Wireless mice. You can use these mice without having to plug them in to charge. Read more about the clever design of this product here.
- SimpliSafe’s Shield home security system with a base station, keyboard, key fob, two motion sensors and six access sensors is reduced to just $159.99 at Best Buy. It normally costs $269.99.
- Bang & Olufsen’s Beoplay Portal wireless gaming headset for Xbox consoles is heavily discounted at Woot. Originally $499.99, it’s $249.99. I haven’t tested this model, but it seems like a far better value considering it has active noise cancellation, Bluetooth support, and a seemingly comfortable design. Note that when new it only has a 90-day warranty from Woot.
