Former President Donald Trump’s children were torn between denial and anger after he lost the 2020 presidential election, the British filmmaker, who had access to the family, told Insider.
Alex Holder spent weeks filming the Trump campaign and interviewing the former president and his family members as part of a secret project documenting the 2020 election and its aftermath.
His work was revealed during the panel’s hearings on Jan. 6, after the panel received his footage as evidence.
Holder described in an interview with Insider on Tuesday that he saw a “mixture” of reactions from Trump’s three oldest children: Ivanka, Eric and Don Jr.
“There was an attitude that one of them showed that was incredibly bitter and angry at the end result,” Holder told Insider.
“And then there were the other kids who were in total denial and didn’t even relate to anything that they were no longer in the White House and the disaster that had happened before.”
Holder did not say which children he meant with each description. But his descriptions matched widespread accounts of the Trump children after the election.

Trump’s two eldest sons, Don Jr. and Eric, have vocally backed their father in his unsubstantiated claims that the election was stolen.
In a series of text messages first reported by CNN, Don Jr. encouraged former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows to take “multiple avenues” to reverse his father’s election loss.
In a separate interview with The Independent, Holder said Eric was unconcerned about potential violence from Trump supporters responding to false allegations of voter fraud.
In contrast, Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner have remained withdrawn from Trump’s presidency in recent weeks while slowly distancing themselves from the administration, according to the New York Times.
Ivanka’s stance on the election was questioned again when footage from Holder’s documentary, seen by The New York Times last month, showed Trump’s eldest daughter telling her father to keep his challenges to the election results “pending on all appeals.” are exhausted. “
The footage was captured in December 2020, the Times said.
Her comments were at odds with her testimony made before the January 6 committee last month, in which she said she “accepted” the results of the election after former Attorney General William Barr said there was no voter fraud given.
Holder found himself at the center of an unlikely political storm after it emerged his footage was subpoenaed by the House Special Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack. He has already testified privately before the panel.
The Trump Organization did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment.
Holder’s documentary is scheduled to air in its entirety on Discovery+
