Team Fortress 2 has received a massive update! We have the patch notes for the July 8, 2022 update for Team Fortress 2.

These changes will likely be extremely welcome for both long-term and short-term players. So, without further ado, let’s get into them.

So the patch notes for the game are as follows:

  • Several fixes to address exploits and stability issues
  • Added game server setting “net_chan_limit_msec” which allows server operators to limit the processing time the game server can spend processing packets for each client per tick. Clients sending packets that cause the server CPU processing time to exceed the configured number of milliseconds will be kicked by the game server.
  • Added game server setting “net_chan_stats_dump” which, if enabled, dumps statistics for each network channel when that network channel is closed. Statistics include messages, bandwidth, and CPU processing time breakdown.
  • Added game server setting “tf_fall_damage_disablespread” to disable random fall damage (default: 0)
  • Fixed not being able to adjust the offset for a cosmetic item’s uncommon effect
  • Fixed some players seeing [unknown] for their player name
  • Fixed broken transparency on cosmetics
  • Fixed delay compensation when meleeing teammates
  • Fixed an issue where it was not possible to hit a player’s hitbox if it extended beyond the player’s bounding box during an animation
  • Fixed wobbly bone rendering in gear and item previews
  • Fixed Iron Bomber projectile collision size not matching other projectile collision sizes
  • Fixed ConVar buttons flickering after clicking to toggle value
  • Fixed an issue where the shortstop jab was showing as self-inflicted damage
  • Fixed Mini Sentry Turrets not triggering damage alerts in the HUD
  • Fixed net_disconnect_reason affecting disconnect messages on the client
  • Fixed Medi Gun charges expiring too soon when a server enforces add_uber_time
  • Fixed network edicts used only for server-side entities
  • Updated mat_picmip to allow values ​​below -1
  • Updated/added some tournament medals
  • Localization files updated
  • Updated Mann vs. MachineFixed not being able to be kicked by spectators
  • Fixed bots not showing the correct names
  • Fixed loading screen backgrounds on Valve servers
  • Fixed Overcharge charge rate and duration upgrade not working for the Vaccinator
  • Updated Arena ModeFixed: Players could later join the game
  • Fixed players on Team Unassigned being able to kill other players
