“Stop making things into other things”

TikTok fitness coach James Cappola (@j_cappola_fitcoach) has some choice words for certain nutritional substitutes, particularly the viral “healthy cola.”

What is inflation and what causes it?

Cappola is a fitness coach and content creator who posts clips of fitness tips and tricks while debunking the occasional diet and training myth. Recently, Cappola shared a video speaking out about using diet supplements to lose weight, and viewers have their say in the comments.

The clip begins with the viral TikTok video of the recipe for “a healthy alternative to a coke.”

Suddenly the clip switches to a shot of Cappola looking skeptically at the camera and taking a deep breath.

When Cappola learns that the alternative cola recipe is a combination of balsamic vinegar and sparkling water over ice in a glass, he goes about his day while internally screaming, as the onscreen text indicates.

How Evan Mock manifested his rapid rise to stardom:

The tension continues to build as Cappola drives home after work. Eventually he returns and tells his partner that before she embarks on a “diet raade,” she should probably take her client outside.

“Stop doing things differently so you can have this thing,” Cappola explains, before explaining that a single 140-calorie can of Coke isn’t the reason people are struggling to reach their fitness goals.

“Five of those a day would slow you down,” says Cappola, pointing to the Coke. “It’s a question of habit and behavior.”

After mentioning that Diet Coke and Coke Zero are available for those who want to drink five cans a day, Cappola leaves viewers with one last hot take.

“Cauliflower pizza is not PIZZA! It’s cauliflower with cheese and gravy,” Cappola explains, explaining that it’s possible to overindulge in healthy foods, too.

Cappola closes the video by saying, “We’re all trying to make it in this world. We don’t have to do a chemistry project every time we want something.”

“Balsamico and La Croix sound absolutely fishy.”

Viewers used the comments to express their opinions on nutritional issues.

“Balsamico and La Croix sound absolutely fishy. Eat your dressing on a salad, don’t drink it,” joked one user.

“I don’t care about the calories. Coke is just terrible for you, including diet drinks. Eat and drink clean folks,” wrote one TikToker.

“‘The only difference between medicine and poison is the dosage.’ [The] When I first heard it hit me,” shared one viewer.

While viewers had mixed opinions about dieting, everyone seemed to agree that balsamic vinegar with sparkling water is a combo they’d be happy to forego.
