According to recent rumours kotaku can confirm this based on his sources Rockstar Games is currently focused on development grand theft auto 6and has shelved all remakes after the poor reception of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.
Yesterday, a tweet from Tez, an often reliable and trusted one GTA insiderShe caught the attention of many Rockstar fans. According to the tweet, Red Dead Redemption and GTAIV Remasters were no longer “on the table”, possibly due to the terrible mess that was last year GTA trilogy remakes. While some have questioned whether this is true, I can confirm that Tez’s tweet is accurate and consistent with what I was told.
According to sources with knowledge of Rockstar’s plans and future projects, the publisher hopes people will forget about the critically panned and botched classic GTA Remasters released last year as it focuses most of its resources and energy on its next big game, grand theft auto 6the Rockstar confirmed earlier this year that it was in development.
However, while the current plan is to get grand theft auto 6 Done and out the door, I’m told a Red Dead Redemption and GTAIV Remasters aren’t totally “out of scope” and could still happen in the future GTA6 Ships.

Last year, our report confirmed the existence of the rumor at the time GTA trilogy Remasters, we also explained that Rockstar had remastering plans at the time Red Dead Redemption. At the time of writing, the idea of remastering RDR had been on the table for the publisher for a number of years, but now after last year’s remasters were flopped and requested GTA6 is growing, the publisher has postponed its plans again and is approaching the next big thing and is not looking back, at least for the time being.
At the time of this writing I was told by sources that the reception and sales of the remasters would play a big part in future remastering projects.
For those who don’t remember, 2021 GTA trilogy was released in a broken state, full of graphical bugs and other problems This made it difficult to enjoy the games on every platform you played. While updates have fixed many of these issues, the revised graphics and menus still made many players dissatisfied. It also didn’t help that leading up to the announcement of the remastered trilogy Rockstar and Take-Two went after old fan mods and projects upset a community who could have stepped in to fix the botched release.
Speaking of when to expect grand theft auto 6none of my sources have been able to share any specific details, but it seems that for now, at least, the plan is to move forward and hope people forget the past.
