Square Enix will be releasing a lot of games in the next few years, right? Forspoken, Final Fantasy XVI, Final Fantasy Rebirth, and those are just the names of the big ones. Now they have announced a brand new game that combines fantasy with life simulation, Harvestella, and we have all the details about the game, the game release date and which platforms the game will be released on.
What is Harvestella?
Harvestella is a combination of traditional Square Enix JRPG battle gameplay with Stardew Valley-esque gameplay as you grow crops, interact with the world around you and make new friends along the way.

Explore an imaginative world as the seasons change, tend to your crops, make new friends, face off against enemies in dynamic battles and unravel the mystery of the season of death, Quietus.”
From what we’ve seen of the game so far, it looks like what you’d expect from a traditional Square Enix JRPG, with combat gameplay similar to many of the company’s other titles, but this is pretty much one of the the company’s first forays into the life simulator genre. The world you travel through consists of the following:
- ‘City of Nemea, where cherry trees bloom all year round.’
- ‘Shatolla, a seaside town with a lively tavern.’
- ‘Lethe Village, resplendent in the bright colors of the first seasons.’
- “The Sacred Capital of Argene, Shrouded in Snow”
You use these locations and your map in conjunction to reach the four Seaslights, giant crystals that help control the seasons. On the other side you’ll find allies like Shikra, Heine, Asylum, Aria and more. You can help them face their concerns and desires to get a deeper understanding of the characters and what makes them tick, including the combat system. The combat system lets you switch between jobs like the fighter, the shadowwalker, and the mage, allowing you to use your entire party at their peak and figure out how they work best.
Aside from everything mentioned above, we don’t really know much about the game, which makes sense considering it was only revealed yesterday. With the game itself releasing relatively soon, we can expect a whole lot of new information about how the game works and the systems within the game itself over the next few months.
When will the game be released and on what?
The game is currently scheduled for release on November 4th, 2022 and will be available on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. So far there is no sign of the game coming to other consoles, but we’ll definitely let you know as soon as we have more details about the game.
