It’s been almost two years since the last generation of graphics cards came out, so you might be wondering, will Nvidia release new cards in 2022? The current generation of Ampere cards was originally launched in September 2020. And appearing during the pandemic has proven to be a battle for GPU lineup.

There were a variety of challenges when it came out, resulting in a GPU shortage. With the lockdowns, many factories closed and were unable to continue production, resulting in less inventory than some might have expected. After that, there is a big traffic jam in exporting and passing on to the people.

This led to many people taking advantage of the situation where scalpers were snapping up the stock to sell it for profit. While the crypto boom prompted many others to buy the cards to make money, that didn’t end up in the hands of players. Overall, this leads to a dire situation for expensive GPUs, which we are just recovering from in mid-2022. As card prices return to normal, but not to the same extent, you can expect to have some new options to choose from soon.

It is likely that Nvidia will release new cards in 2022. There are rumors of upcoming new releases as well as a trend of releasing new cards every two years. So it’s reaching the stage of awaited release. The next generation of Ada 40 series cards is expected to launch in the second half of 2022. The first publication is expected to take place in September.
