First images of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer maps have been leaked after being included in the Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile Closed Alpha released in select test regions under NDA in May.
The Warzone Mobile, also known as Project Aurora, is in closed alpha testing, but as users get their hands on the various builds on iOS and Android, they’ve found a range of Modern Warfare 2 and even Treyarch’s Call of Duty 2024. content in the files.
The images in the files are the images of each map’s loading screen. Activision will send DMCA and copyright notices on these images and as such will not host the images on the site. The Warzone Mobile Closed Alpha is signed under NDA with no permission to share gameplay or images from it.
The leaker on Twitter claims to have access to many of Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer map loading screens and has posted some 6v6 map images as well as some Ground War map images.
Modern Warfare 2 map leak
The first map displayed is called up ‘Grand Prix‘ which was confirmed in June as part of the game’s reveal as a card. The Grand Prix takes place in Asia.
oilfield is the second card. This appears to be taking place in a desert landscape area.
The third map the leaker posted is museum. This map has the most colors from the images shown and supports a variety of playstyles.
The fourth card was only mentioned by its codename, SABA. Information about this map beyond the images is not known at this time, nor is the final release name confirmed.
Images of Modern Warfare 2 Ground War Maps
The leaker also shared images of 2 Modern Warfare 2 Ground War MP Maps.
The first leaked ground war map is hydro, which takes place in a desert landscape where water flows through the middle. As confirmed by Infinity Ward, the Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 engine supports swimming, which means maps contain areas of water.

Ground War’s next leaked map is ‘fish town.’
The third ground war map is Sira.
As previously mentioned by Infinity Ward, the Ground War maps will come together to form the new Warzone 2 map.
Modern Warfare 2 MP Map Codenames
Additionally, the leaker also shared a list of the codenames for all of the MP cards currently in the files for Modern Warfare 2 MP.
Some of the maps are left over from Modern Warfare 2019, while the rest are codenames or ship names for the 2022 game.
Activision hasn’t commented on why Warzone Mobile’s files contain all these Modern Warfare 2 images. The company will issue DMCA notices to anyone who posts any leaks on the internet.
So far, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 MP has not been officially revealed, apart from a few details. There is no known timetable for the MP unveiling. Activision has confirmed that there will be an open beta before the game launches.
