Elon Musk: A look at the Tesla boss’s girlfriends, ex-wives and children

The richest man in the world, Elon Musk, has been fertile and multiplied.

The tech icon has 10 children with three wives – including twins who were born last year.

Musk, 51, and a top executive at one of his companies, Shivon Zilis, welcomed the two new members of his brood in Austin, Texas in November, insiders revealed.

The news site reported that Musk and Zilis, 36, filed a petition in April to give the twins their father’s last name and their mother’s last name as part of their middle name.

The Twitter-hungry billionaire appeared to confirm her birth in a tweet, sparking renewed interest in his growing family tree.

“I am doing my best to help the underpopulation crisis. A collapsing birth rate is by far the greatest danger facing civilization,” Musk wrote on Twitter.

That brings the South African-born business magnate’s confirmed children to 10 – six with his first wife Justine Wilson, two with Claire Boucher, aka Grimes, and the twins with Zilis.

Musk and Wilson’s first child, born in 2002, died of cot death at the age of 10 weeks, according to Marie Claire.

Grimes’ second child with Musk, a daughter born through surrogacy, came weeks after Zilis gave birth to her twins.

Zilis has worked for Musk’s company for years. According to her LinkedIn profile, she is Director of Operations and Special Projects at Neuralink.

The company, co-founded by Musk, develops computer interfaces that help people with neurological disorders turn their thoughts into action.

News of their twins’ arrival marks the first time the two have been romantically linked, but Zilis, an artificial intelligence expert, defended him on Twitter in 2020.

“No one is perfect, but I have never met anyone who goes through more personal pain to fight for an inspiring future for humanity – and has done so tirelessly for decades,” she wrote. “Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but mine is that there is no one I respect and admire more.”

Grimes, 34, and Musk were first linked romantically in May 2018 when they performed together at the Met Gala.

They welcomed a son named X Æ A-Xii, who they call X, in May 2020, and a daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl, who is named Y, as surrogate mothers in December 2021.

Grimes wrote in a tweet last March that the couple had ended their on-and-off relationship.

“He is my best friend and the love of my life,” she wrote.

Though Musk had no confirmed children with Amber Heard, they began dating in mid-2016 before finally calling it quits in February 2018.

Musk gifted the “Aquaman” actress a Tesla and donated nearly $1 million to various charities on her behalf.

Meanwhile, Heard has told her agent she doesn’t love him and is just “filling space,” according to testimony at Johnny Depp’s defamation lawsuit against her.

Heard, 36, gave birth to a daughter, Oonagh Paige Heard, via a surrogate in April 2021 but never revealed the identity of the father or sperm donor.

She wrote on Instagram that she was both the mother and father of the child.

British actress Talulah Riley, 36, and Musk have been married twice but have never had children.

They first married in 2010 after he left his first wife, Justine Wilson, for the much younger brunette, who starred in the movie Pride and Prejudice.

The two divorced two years later, only to remarry in July 2013. The couple split in 2016 after a whirlwind 8-year romance.

The SpaceX founder and the Canadian writer, whom he met while studying at Queen’s University, married in 2000.

After their first child, Nevada, died in 2002, the couple decided to use IVF for family growth, Wilson wrote in a 2010 essay in Marie Claire entitled “I Was a Starter Wife”: Inside America’s Messiest Divorce.

They had twins: Vivian, who was given the name Xavier at birth, and Griffin in 2004. They are both 18 years old. The couple had triplets Kai, Saxon and Damian in 2006, and the trio is now 15 years old, according to Hollywood Life.

Musk filed for divorce in 2008. Six weeks later he wrote to Wilson, 49, that he was engaged to Riley, then in his 20s, and that the two lived together in Los Angeles, according to Marie Claire.

Although Musk often posts pictures of his children online, little is known about them.

Vivian Jenna Wilson, who is transgender, legally changed her name from Xavier Musk in June 2022, the day after her 18th birthday.

She cited gender identity and a dislike of her father as reasons.

“I no longer live with my birth father or want to be related to him in any way,” she wrote in the petition, taking her mother’s last name.
