Bilt Rewards has introduced a new travel portal that allows members to use their points to book flights, hotels and car rentals with no blackout dates.
The value portion of the Bilt rewards
Bilt Rewards Alliance is a collection of over two million rental homes across the country that allows you to earn points by paying rent. While that may be its main benefit, the Bilt Mastercard, now open to all, is like a Chase Sapphire Preferred with no annual fee and offers:
- 3x points when eating
- 2x points on trips
- 1x points on rental payments and other purchases
Importantly, Bilt Rewards offers the following airline and hotel transfer partners:
- Air Canada Aeroplan
- Air France/KLM Flying Blue
- American Airlines Advantage
- Cathay Pacific Asia Miles
- Emirates Skywards
- Hawaiian Airlines Hawaiian Miles
- IHG Awards
- Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles
- United Airlines MileagePlus
- Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
- world of Hyatt
American and United under one roof? Yes indeed. This is a unique value proposition and offers a level of flexibility we don’t see with American Express, Capital One, Chase, or Citi.
New: Bilt Rewards travel portal
Today, Bilt Rewards announced a new Bilt Rewards travel portal powered by Expedia. While the above transfer programs truly represent the best value of the program, sometimes you need to be on a specific flight on a specific day. This is where a travel portal can come into play, giving you even more flexibility with your points.
All Bilt points redeemed via the portal are deducted at 1.25 cents from the travel expenses. That means 10,000 Bilt Points = $125 when redeemed through the portal. You can use a mix of points and cash to cover the cost of a trip, and there is no minimum number of points that you must redeem.
Bilt Members earn points for all purchases made through the Bilt Travel Portal. This includes purchases paid for in full with any credit/debit card, as well as purchases paid for with points and a card. With Points+Cash bookings, you earn points for the portion paid for by card. Meanwhile, Bilt Mastercard cardholders will earn double points for all purchases on the Bilt Travel Portal when paying with their Bilt Mastercard.
Again, this is like the Chase Sapphire Preferred card without the annual fee.
You can use the Bilt Rewards mobile app to book:
or the desktop site:
Another cool feature: You can also book Disney and Universal hotel properties through this new portal.
CONCLUSION
If you’re flexible with your time and travel schedule, switching to an affiliate program still results in the best price. But Bilt Reward’s addition of a new travel portal now makes those points even more valuable and enables a wide range of new travel-related redemptions.
