DOOMSDAY conspiracy theories abound as the new CERN Large Hadron Collider experiment is set to generate unprecedented levels of energy on July 5th.
The European Organization for Nuclear Research celebrates its tenth anniversary by reopening its Large Hadron Collider, which was shut down three years ago.
The European organization, also known as CERN, runs the largest laboratory for particle physics in the world.
CERN’s main function is to provide the particle accelerators and other infrastructure needed for high-energy physics.
Numerous top-class experiments have been set up at the institute through international cooperation, e.g. B. the creation of the World Wide Web.
CERN is also used to refer to the lab, which in 2019 had 2,660 employees and hosted about 12,400 users from institutions in more than 70 countries.
On July 3, 2022, a series of events will begin at CERN with the first celebrations of the tenth anniversary of the discovery of the Higgs boson particle.
On July 5, 2022, collisions of unprecedented energy will occur at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
The LHC, the largest and most powerful particle accelerator in the world, is at the center of the conspiracy theories surrounding CERN.
People have shared their superstitions regarding the “portal” that will open after two high-energy beams of particles are timed to travel at nearly the speed of light before colliding.
“Anyway, @CERN is opening a multidimensional portal on July 5th and will use dark matter! Everything is fine,” someone said said on twitter.
“What if CERN really opened a portal to hell or something,” another person tweeted.
CERN was in the news after the hit show Stranger Things released in 2016.
Scientists have postulated that we can use gravity to test the possibility that other dimensions exist, and the LHC has been viewed critically for this reason.
“One way to see evidence of other dimensions involves gravity – specifically the theoretical particle associated with gravity called the graviton,” reported Energy.
“One theory is that the graviton can move in all dimensions, not just the ones we live in.
“And if we can create gravitons at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, we could potentially see evidence of them leaving our dimensions for others.”
This theory and the hit TV show was a trigger for people to become concerned about the events of July 5th.
However, this does not prevent the celebrations of CERN.
The start of Run 3 of the LHC will be broadcast live on CERN’s social media channels.
This marks the start of the new physics season at the institute’s flagship accelerator.
It comes ten years after groundbreaking research into the Higgs boson was presented to a packed CERN auditorium.
According to CERN, the events will look back at where a decade of Higgs science has taken the field while looking at new perspectives.
